New York.....Here we Come

March 29th, 2013 at 02:01 am

I haven't said much about this but my DH and I won WWE Wrestle Mania tickets which is in New York this year. We go next week. We leave on Thursday and come back on Monday.

The trip included 2 tickets to the Wrestle Mania event, 2 nights hotel, and flights to New York. We also have been given tickets to go to the Late Show with David Letterman. We are going to hit up a comedy club on our own dime.

Just wanted to see if there are any of you that have suggestions of must-sees in New York. We plan to try and visit the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and the 9/11 memorial. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Is there anyone that can advise on transportation from Laguartia Airport to Times Square Area?

Museum of Modern Art I'd recommend. You could pick up a copy of "The New Yorker" to see what exhibitions, performances, and Broadway shows appeal to you. Congratulations on winning!

Also if any of you is a MAD Magazine fan, there's a retrospective of Harvey Kurtzman's comic art at Society of Illustrators, 128 East Sixty-third Street.

Also: SuperShuttle with advance reservations will take you from LaGuardia to your hotel (between 96th and 24th) for $15 a person in a Shared Ride van (estimated location: W 46th at the Paramount Hotel). Go to the SuperShuttle website to enter your actual destination for a better estimate, and book online if you'd like.

If u have a chance and your budget allows the expense you shouls see a Broadway show. The Lion King is my favorite.

    Enjoy!!

Food and TV shows. Big Grin
Actually, the last time I went to NYC was with my architect friend, and so we of course walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, went to the Guggenheim, and I don't think Grand Central Station was a destination (maybe it was), but ended up there for transportation. Grand Central is memorable. Wall Street, etc.

Edit that to say: Food + TV shows + Broadway.

Paulette: Thanks for telling me about the Shuttle.
